New Responsive Website Design…
We’re not one to blow our own trumpet (well, ok, maybe a little) but since our establishment some 10 years ago our website design team has provided the go-to services businesses of all shapes and sizes need to transform their online presence. Longstone Cottage is just one client to call on us, and our web design expertise, for assistance, and we thought we’d take this opportunity to share the ins and outs of the new website that we created for this high quality, Northumberland based self-catering accommodation specialist.
Why the big change?
Whilst Longstone Cottage already had an online presence, the client’s old website was dated and in desperate need of an overhaul. Whilst the cottage is known and loved for its history – the property dates back to the 1800s and is situated between the historic towns of Alnwick and Berwick upon Tweed – the client longed for a website to relay this high standard and well equipped home from home’s class, style and heritage to online users searching for a beautiful countryside escape for their upcoming short break or long stay.
The old website simply didn’t reflect the beauty of the cottage, the quality of the accommodation on offer or the stunning countryside and coast that surrounds it, but our team of talented web designers were determined to change this.
What happened next?
After a detailed consultation with the client (each and every one of our projects begins in this way), our designers got the information they needed to get to know the brand inside out, and understand the client’s design wants and needs. As a result we opted for a visually led design as the client is a keen photographer and supplied all artwork for the site.
We chose WordPress as the development framework to ensure the client could update content and images independently, something they couldn’t do before.
The result
As well as improving the user experience and the client’s control of the website, its clean and professional design appeals to visitors and truly showcases the property and its stunning surroundings. Longstone Cottage is now booked solid for the rest of the year and is already taking bookings for 2016 – a job well done by Team Onit!
