The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Restaurant and Market is a seafood restaurant chain inspired by the 1994 film Forrest Gump. The first restaurant opened it’s doors in Monterey California in 1996 and the company has been expanding across the globe ever since.

In October 2014 Bubba Gump Shrimp came across the pond to London and with that came the requirement for a new website to coincide with the grand opening of the very first Bubba Gump Shrimp in the UK.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Launches in the UK

When we were contacted by the management team at Bubba Gump Shrimp to submit a proposal for the project…well as you can imagine, we were absolutely delighted. Forest Gump is a major motion picture and firm favourite with the ladies (and gents) in the office so to be considered for such a prestigious project and have the opportunity to work alongside of a corporate world wide brand such as the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company was mind blowing!

Life is like a Box of Chocolates

Well, win the project we did and after several skype meetings with our Bubba Gump Shrimp colleagues in the UK and across the pond we were able to get to work in creating a set of visuals that would appeal to the UK market and really showcase the amazing food on offer. Although we had a very strict set of guidelines to ensure that the corporate brand was properly represented, the team at Onit were able to come up with a first draft design that ticked all of the boxes and that is essentially what you see on the live site today!

We still can’t believe that we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with a global brand like Bubba Gump Shrimp, but like Forest said… “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get”
